Applications for WIPO competitions on the occasion of the World Intellectual Property Day in progress

Mostar, January 24, 2024 - World Intellectual Property Day, which is celebrated on April 26, this year will be held under the motto "Intellectual property and sustainable development goals: Building our common future with innovation and creativity".

On this occasion, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) opened a competition for small and medium-sized enterprises and startups from its 193 members, that use intellectual property to drive enterprise growth, as well as positive societal impact. Applications are open until March 31, 2024.

WIPO has also opened a competition for young people to submit a video showing how an inventor, creator, entrepreneur or local community in their vicinity is shaping a better future for all through innovation, creativity and intellectual property rights. In the year 2000, WIPO member states designated April 26 – the day the WIPO Convention entered into force in 1970 – as World Intellectual Property Day, with the aim of increasing general awareness and understanding of intellectual property.
