Applications for the WIPO Global Awards underway

Geneva, January 15, 2025 – World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) today opened the application process for the WIPO Global Awards 2025.

Startups, small and medium-sized enterprises, university spinouts and other smaller companies from all business sectors, including healthcare, environment, creative industries, agri-food industry and information and communication technology (ICT), can apply. The application period ends on 31 March 2025.

The awards aim to encourage the commercialization of intellectual property by showcasing the winning inventors, creators, and entrepreneurs who use intellectual property to achieve their business goals, generate revenue, create jobs, address local and global challenges, and support community and national development.

An independent expert jury will select the ten winning companies, which will be announced at an award ceremony during the WIPO Assemblies in July 2025 at the organization's headquarters in Geneva. What is new this year is that a special recognition will be given to award-winning companies led by women and young entrepreneurs.
