Federated European Patent Register
Institute for Intellectual Property of BiH provides access to data on submitted applications for the extension of European patents to BiH through the "Federated European Patent Register".
The above-mentioned register allows for unified search of EPO members patent registers. The incorporation of the Register of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the result of bilateral cooperation between the Institute for Intellectual Property of BiH and the European Patent Office.
Federated European Patent Register is a section of the European Patent Register which provides information on the legal status of EP patent documents in a national phase. In addition to the fast access to basic data from national registers, there is also a direct link to the public part of the registers of countries that are part of this service.
The data from the BiH registry are updated on the day of user's access to the service.

Generally, this status is relevant for a short period of time since the formal examination procedure starts briefly after the request(s) has/have been received. Formalities in progress This status is used when the national formality procedure for validation is still in progress. The request for extension to Bosnia and Herzegovina has been received and there are some formal conditions to be met before the extended European patent acquires"Patent in force" status. Note: The Renewal fee data will be provided if payments have been made but not all the required documents have been submitted (Power of Attorney, B1 Document, publication fee, etc.) Patent in force This status is used when an extended European patent is valid and in force in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Patent not validated A patent is not considered to be valid in Bosnia and Herzegovina from the outset (Ex tunc) when a request for extension to Bosnia and Herzegovina has been rejected or refused because of the failure to submit a translation of the patent claims or to pay the fee within the allocated time limit. Note: For this status, fee data will be provided if payments were made in Bosnia and Herzegovina before or after the EP number received this status. (e.g. EP2473053 / BAE01755) Patent not in force This status is used when a patent was validated in Bosnia and Herzegovina but at some point ceased to be in force. There may be various reasons for this, e.g. results of an opposition procedure or expiration. The most common reason being failure to pay maintenance fees.
