Director Merdžo participated in the 18th annual meeting of the Member States of the European Patent Network
Vilnius, May 7, 2024 – Director of the Institute for Intellectual Property of Bosnia and Herzegovina Josip Merdžo participated in the 18th annual meeting of the Member States of the European Patent Network, held on May 7 in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.
António Campinos, President of the European Patent Office (EPO), as well as directors of state/national intellectual property offices of all EPO member states attended the meeting, among others.
The opening theme of the meeting was "Digital Transformation and the Impact of AI on Intellectual Property Offices."
As part of the meeting, three interactive panels were held with the following topics: "IT cooperation: getting ready for the future", "Intellectual property outreach to young generations" and "Intellectual property outreach to innovation communities and society", with a special focus on startups.
Looking to the future, EPO aims to strengthen European Patent Network through transparent dialogue and consistency of action.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is a state of enlargement of the EPO on the basis of agreement on cooperation and extension in the field of patents.
