House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Adopts Five Draft Laws in the Field of Industrial Property
The House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted five draft laws in the field of industrial property in the second reading.
At the 31st urgent session, held on May 14 in Sarajevo, the draft laws on the protection of trade secrets as intellectual property rights, on the protection of topographies of semiconductor products, and draft laws on patents, trademarks and representation in the field of industrial property rights were adopted.
The House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted these laws in October 2025, and the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina in June 2025, at the proposal of the Institute for Intellectual Property of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The five adopted laws in the field of industrial property are harmonized with the acquis of the European Union. The aim of adopting these laws is to improve the legal system for the protection of industrial property, increase legal certainty, and fulfil the obligations under the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA).
At the same session, the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH adopted a conclusion returning the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Industrial Design to the Constitutional and Legal Committee of the House of Peoples for adjustment.
